Pink Banana

de l’espèce

An ornamental banana tree with spectacular fruits
The pink banana tree develops large green leaves that resemble those of other species in the genus Musa. Its compact habit, however, allows it to easily find its place in ornamental gardens.
At the tip of the plant, an inflorescence appears, composed of bright pink bracts that attract numerous pollinators. After flowering, small clusters of fruit form, covered with a fine pink fuzz, a unique characteristic of the species.
When the fruits ripen, their skin naturally opens to reveal a whitish flesh containing numerous black seeds. Unlike commonly consumed bananas, the fruits of the pink banana tree are primarily valued for their ornamental appeal.
Like the heliconias, the alpinias or the porcelain roses, this species contributes to the richness of spectacular flowering tropical plants found in Caribbean gardens.
